i raced an auto tranny '02 WS6 TransAm with some minor bolt-ons (intake i blv). he runs 13.2s in the 1/4 mile. i beat him by about 2 cls in an 1/8 run from a standing start. he was spinning all the way through 2nd gear, so it was probably more of a traction issue for him rather than my car just blowing his doors off.

aren't new edge GT's faster than the LT1's? or close to even? but the GT's have a slight edge over them, atleast that's what i always thought/heard.....

That is an LS1, and yes, he is probably faster than an 05+ GT until you get a pretty good bit of bolt-ons. My friends stock 98 A4 Z28 ran 13.3@105 all day long.
