Well, the street/strip forum is usually about racing. It would be kinda boring if Mustangs just raced one another all the time. The F-body has traditionally been the Mustang's nemesis; been that way since 1967. Naturally, people are going to be curious about the other side of the fence. That's why I'm here.

LS1tech is where I buy all my performance stuff, and where I go if I need to know anything at all about a certain problem. Those guys are extrememely helpful, especially on a tech question. Can you link where you posted the question? I've never had a problem over there.

That sounds very promising, especially with that set-up in a C5 vette with all the suspension upgrades (compared the IROC-Z). Good stuff man!! Thanks

Josh

His IROC has a SICK! suspension...But yeah, I get your point

no offense,

but there is much more expertise IN OTHER FORUMS!!!!
Tell me about it. I post on LS1Tech.com and yet to receive an answer. I post on DigitalCorvettes and get told to F/I that is the only way to get 55 more Hp out of the LS1. I post here and within minutes get a detailed response on what I should do, so yeah the other forums worked. If your taking Off-Topic, been there and was informed to try S/S b/c that is where the LS1 boys hang out. So that's how I ended up here. I tried LS1 forums first and relied on my crew here at MF. Who would know the LS1 better than the Arch-Rival.

Know Thyne Enemy and Achieve Victory, or Remain Blind and Suffer Defeat.
welp, i guess its pretty sad you getta better response from a MUSTANG forum. . . but ohh well, we got a lot of LSx guys here that know a lot of $hit

i guess im just tired of hearing about LSx's all the damn time. . . [:@]

Me 2. [:@]
I would forget about the base C5 and get a 02-04 ZO6. Not only does the LS6 have a better head and cam setup but weight reduction on the car is in all aspects such as a lighter and thinner 3/4 inch exhaust manifold (shared with the LS2)lighter titanium exhaust, plus the fact of getting an extra RELIABLE 55hp from the factory. You can find an '02 ZO6 with 50Kmiles in the mid $30K range.........

I used to own a 4th Gen F-body (95 TA) and will once again own a F-bod (99-02 SS M6 planned for this upcoming summer). I currently own a full-bolton H/C 5.0 (which runs like *** b/c of a horrid tune).

I enjoy the LSX cars and have a lot of friends with highly modded ones. They all urge me to juice or cam it, but im staying MILD bolt-on, lol. Anyways, looks like you got what you need from your questions. I do belive all M6 cars from GM will be 3.42, although im not sure about the Z. Also, I think the rear-end in a vette is not a regular 10-bolt but I would need to verify that one. I know its IRS and not SRA but its not like the crappy cobra IRS, it hooks a tad better. and really handles nice.

Actually C6 I've found quite a few at the 30k range and a few 01s at the sub 30K level. Hopefully the price will drop a grand or two with the market by Nov or Dec, we'll see.
Besides the Hp and TQ, what was the major diff. b/w the 01 and 02 models?

Here is the link:

Maybe I posted in the wrong section or something. I posted in the LS1-LS6 internal engines section.

What type of suspension does he have?

I do realize I am talking to three people in the reply, but what the hey, you guys are smart enough to figure it out.

Should have posted in the general LSX discussion, or even the New LS1 Owners & Enthusiasts. Would get MUCH more views. You posted this in the S/S here, which typically is the largest viewed forum, besides Off Topic on this site.

All six speed (M6) cars come with 3.42's. Auto's (A4) cars come with 2.73's or 3.23's. You can find out what you have by looking on your door panel. GU2 is 2.73 and GU5 is 3.23 I believe. It may be the opposite way, but it's easy to find out.

I'm pretty sure the Vette's have there own RearEnd set-up, atleast they do on my C3. It's not as Sh!tty as people think. I was thinking that the Z51 package on the standard C5 added a gear ration change as well, not sure on that one though.
