The terminators stock dyno around 370-385... the Shelby does it in the low 400's... normally 420-430... so thats a 50rwhp difference or so, with an extra 3-400lbs... that's why. Everyone here knows, that I have issues with the Shelby, and my car responds to mods like no other.. but damn those shelbys get a wake up call with just a tune and intake... I don't know what Ford is really thinking honestly.... In the end the sadder thing is that Ford will be producing more Shelbys on avg per year then they did Terminators [:@] - looks like these "collectors" won't have themselves to rare of a car... less SVT models avg per year then Shelbys, and the SVT's were out for 10 years!

But back to topic: The Shelby is a solid car, but stock - it's just not competition for the z06 or the Viper... It's a pulley, tune and suspension short... add those - then it's a whole another ballgame... but you "run what ya brung" -

+1. The mags say it's a better value than the Z06...at MSRP. That could definitely be argued. It is true to Mustang tradition in that in can be fairly easily modded into a monster. Evolution performance has theirs into the 9s now. Pulley, tune and tires will put it out front in the 1/4. Some spring changes and it gets closer on a track. But man, that thing is heavy. [>:]

Lighten it up, put a better set of springs and shocks uinder it and some meats comparable to the Z06 and Viper and the car would have been the best mustang ever.

No way I'd pay over MSRP for what Ford ended up with. I'll keep my 04 Mystic Terminator and my S281E.

But the Viper out-braked and out-slalomed the Z06 which was a surprise to me.
The Z06 probably had worse tires, but otherwise the Viper has excellent brakes. It also went around the track faster than the Z, but that's because the sissies can't push the Z06 to its limit. Get a professional driver in those two and the times would probably be incredibly quicker with the Z easily on top.

Damn fast GT 500...

Every mag I've read puts the Viper ahead of the Z06 in handling. Not sure why the "sissies" wouldn't feel comfortable pushing the Z if they pushed the Viper...[&:]

Anyway. All are nice cars. Different strokes...

R&T, Car and Vagina, and Motorfag all are pretty lame magazines in my opinion. What next? F-350 Dually vs. Camaro SS? Its lame, they are a major source of ignorant people thinking they know whats what with a motor vehicles because Brock Yates said an Edge Mach 1 has IRS[&:] Im not a big mag guy, but MM&FF and their GM sister mag which i cant recall teh name of now are the few magazines i will quote anything besides HP/TQ ratings from.
