Dont like the looks of them. The hood looks like it was overdone. I also didnt hear anything about weight reduction. While the vette SS was talked about more, it being 650hp with another 250lbs shaved off of it. Coming it at around the same price as the Viper. While the viper might have the fix for the ZO6, which is 20-30k cheaper, it is going to get absolutely murdered by the SS Vette, at around the same price. I guarantee the SS Vette will be capable of low 10's possibly 9's, bone stock, modded we will see a Vette making around 750rwhp no problem. Lightly modded, i mean under 5k in parts. I believe GM has made a committment to making the most powerful and funnest vehicles to drive at each price point. They are going to be the leaders in performance at every level, just my opinion though.
Not in every performance level. They still dont have a car in the mid-upper twenties. They are trying to make the camaro there, but its gonna end up being low-mid thirties. However the corvette and Z06 are the best and fastest car for the money BY FAR, and when the SS comes out GM is gonna have the best cars from the 40k price range and everything above. The exotics are gonna have to start upping their game.

I was refering to the Camaro for the upper twenty's range. It will make it in the upper twenties, probably start at around 27k for the Z28. Which will again put them in the lead in almost every price range. I dont see anybody bringing out anything that will contest there superiority. But you never know, i hope Ford makes something in the low 30k range that makes good power, maybe change the 5.4 liter to non-supercharged and start putting it in the GT. Oh well, the one thing i must say i am very surprised about is the lack of response from the Japanese automakers. They have come out with one new version of there top performer and didnt change anything performance wise, i saw an article talking about the newly designed EVO and it to had no performance changes, atleast not power. I am very curious to see what happens with there GTR, even though i think its going to come to us at a price of atleast 55k. Just my thoughts though. American performance kicks *** and will continue to kick *** i think for some time, this is just the beginning. Imports and exotics beware.

Not disagreeing with you pewter, but it is extremely unlikely that any v8 option of the new camaro will be in the upper $20k's. Projections right now are mid-$30k's, and I am confident they will be able to put out a product for a little under that. The LS1 camaros of old were upper-$20k's cars, and between inflation/R&D/production/advertising, they would either have to release a good product and lose wads of money or a bad product and break even, if it were to start anywhere near $27k.

...just a combination of my opinion and that of the Chevy/GM representatives I spoke with at the LA Auto Show last month...

Hhmmm, well i hope you are incorrect. I am hoping that they put out a stripper Z28 that would start in the 27-28k range. I remember when they brought out the C6 they actually dropped its MSRP a $1,000.00. Also if i remember right a stripper Z28 was around 24k. I am just going off of memory and may be mistaken though. But i know GM really wants the car to contend with the mustang GT. While i am more than sure it will from a performance stand point, i am hoping it will atleast be close from a dollar stand point. But really, who wants to buy a stripper car, there are very few who do. So you may be correct, only time will tell. Either way, the Camaro will be an excellent vehicle for the money, that i am 100% sure of. And it will have no equal for atleast a few years. Come on Ford bring back the SVT Cobra. The real question though, is how the hell do i get my T/A ready for the upcoming monster vehicles coming out of the motor city. The LS1's domination over the streets is coming to an end, and it is very sad.

Heads+Cam+headers=450rwhp easy. That will put you in the low 11s.

450rwhp is no longer going to be fast enough. It used to be enogh to run with almost any car and still have a chance and be able to beat most cars you went up against. But with these new stock monsters (ZO6, ZO6 SS, Viper, GT500). We are heading in a direction where you must crack open the bottom end on an LS1 to make the power needed to run with these guys. I know a full bolt-on, geared, heads, cam, intake T/A could do well against a stock C6 ZO6 and GT500, but what if there not stock. Just to run with yours Mr.Rogers, i would need evferything i stated plus probably 100 shot of nitrous just to beat your ZO6, and your not even cammed. The gap between the older LS1's and newer vehicles is starting to widen to the point where if you havent spent thousands and thousands on your LS1, then you have no chance. Well i guess that means its time to either spend thousands on the T/A or just buy a C6 ZO6.

Married a woman with a Viper.....only 450 horses....fun in a straight line, definitely a hammer, handled well, but not what you would expect....and THE most frightening car to drive in the rain ever. We now do Stangs..............
