I say you take the car to the track. You went all the time with your C5, why not see what this one will do, especially since it's modded? You can always "lose" the timeslips if it turns out worse than expected.

Eventually I will get "the itch" and go. But for the time being i'm just enjoying it on the streets. However I will have to go soon...the guys at WCC, (West Coast Corvettes) said that they did a similar set up on a 07 Z06 and the guy ran a best 10.89 @ 127mph. So I am a bit optimistic...

there's no bashing coming from me...i just said forget quoting what other people have done and find out what you can do. i didn't say a c6 z06 should be running mid 12's....i simply stated what witnessed it run driven by your average joe vette owner not a pro. you won't catch me saying my stang runs high 8's / bottom 9's because people have done it with my setup/hp

Mid 12s in a in C5 Z06 is your adverage Joe Vette driver. Mid 12s in a C6 Z06is a horrible driver. But I have noted your other points..

if mr rogers said "my car might run XX.XX because so and so did with the same mods", he probably learned that form of ET calculation here...

Meanwhile, Ferrari is making 520hp out of its new F430 CS from a 4.3L V8.

who gives a ****? Its still slower than a Z06 by a longshot, as well as the ford GT. I dont give a damn how a car makes power, as long as it makes it and the curve is good.

Thats such a ricer thing to say. "My s2000 makes 100hp per liter." "Yeah well youre gay because thats still only 200hp".
ROFL
And your right, as long as there is no big difference in engine weight then it doesnt matter how the powers made.

Hp/L never wins any races around here....

It all comes down to how far the factory wants to take their motors in factory trim. Why max them out and give the consumer nothing to buy aftermarket?

I agree with 98ls1. I like it a lot more that my car doesnt come maxed out. I have a whole bunch of aftermarket parts i can put on it to make it even faster.

We've all seen it, just thought I'd repost it here.

Beating Bugatti's? You bet. Cruise with them, most likely not. The fact is Europe has us whipped when it comes to engine displacement vs. horsepower. I'm a watcher of Top Gear and it's amazing what they do with a smaller engine. But I think this video shows we've only begun to tap the full potential of the engines we produce, no matter what it's in.

But I'll take my (Future) mustang anyday
