The thread starter obviously has one intention here, and that is to flame, even if he's doing it in a subtle mannor.
Anyone who says "looks" killed the F-Body, not "performance" is off, way off. It was neither, it was the lack of all around friendliness.
As for the Corvette, being a 'bang for the buck car', eh, I almost think I would differ.
No car that costs more than 35-40K is a 'bang for the buck car'
take a basic Mustang GT for less than the difference between it (28K) and a Z06 (70K) you can make the GT out run, and out handle the Z06.. take a srt-4.. for less than that you can make it faster, and handle better as wel..
my opinion,,

the point is that you get alot of car for the price. it outperforms cars 2 or 3 times its price.

Easy there GM fanboy,, i did not say it has been done ..
but if you'd had read my post, waht I am saying, is that no car that exspensive (GT500, Z06, GT's, Lambo,, etc...) is a good 'bang for the buck'
for the price difference 80K for a C6 Zo6 vs 22K for a SRT-4..
i am sure in under 58,000 dollars, you could make up the difference, thats all I am saying.. same for just about any other car
EDIT, im talking about factory cars too, just like you said the Z06 is a bang for the buck ride compared to a Lambo or Ferrarri, the same can be said for a GT or something equivilent compared to a Z06

It is a bang for the buck car when you consider a Porsche Carrera 911(base price $80K)has very close overall performance to a base C6 (base price $45K). I would consider that a bang for the buck, would'nt you?

The GT pulls away from the z06 after 160ish, ive been in a Z when it was racing a GT
And most of the GT's put down in the 530's stock, underrated like hell. The GT is a badass ride.
It doesnt beat the Z06 in turns though actually, the Z still takes that category. Lightweight FTW.

Id also like to make a correction, the Koenigsegg CCX doesnt have a BBF in, it indeed has a twin-Rotrex supercharged DOHC mod-motor in it. Still Ford powered, just not a F/I big block like I mentioned. My bad.
Look at the Mustang, Yes it is also a bang for the buck when you consider a M3 ($55K), Porsche Boxter ($55K) allthough these two cars would handle better than a Mustang GT, the acceleration difference is marginal.

Joe is in the process of swapping from GT35's to GT42's.
