vortech's don't whine under throttle. they're almost completely silent until you let off the gas. then you hear a psshhhht from the bypass, then it starts singing again. vortechs don't whine, they whistle. you should know that.

sweet! how much is that gonna run you? MMR makes a turbo kit for the 05+ for like 5 grand. which is pretty damn cheap for actual kits.

Good job, Nanaki. We started our builds around the same time, but I sold mine before I got to your level. That T-trim is going to rock.

Quick question. Are you going to ditch the Boost Cooler and go with a mechanical intercooler? With the money invested in a built short block, I know I would. Blowing up your stock engine is one thing, but you'd be out a nice chunk of change should the Boost Cooler fail now.

the boost cooler has the safety garbage on it. it lets me know when there's a flow problem and pulls timing as needed. also bleeds the boost. i'm actually going to be using a larger jet most likely.

once i get the t-trim though, i may think about getting a custom AA cooler, once i hit that 600+ mark.

The kit with shipping is going to be right at $4800, Cam setup about $1100, Clutch and Flywheel about $750. New forged internal after everything explodes ????

My kit had two warnings. One for low fluid level and one then the pump wasn't functioning. If the line was blocked, I'd still get a green light for the pump, even though no fliud was spraying. You must have more options on yours than I did. The tuner who did my STI told me that the difference between the STI ECU and the Mustang ECU is that the STI's would pull timing in the even it went very lean, whereas the Mustang's wouldn't. I guess Snow made an option to safeguard against that.

Anyway, best of luck.

You don't really need the cams, with a turbo, you can bounce off the 450 RWHP without too much trouble.

@nanaki: I could of swore it was a vortech that makes a wine, I know the Saleen and KB don't on the 05's. MagnaCharger perhaps?

The Saleen is fairly quiet, but you can hear it if you listen. The Vortech whistles fairly noticeably but does NOT "whine". The "whine" made famous by cars like the 03-04 cobra is a product of heavy duty twin screw blowers like produced by Kenne Bell and Whipple, but is a side effect of all blowers of the kind.
