No the LS-6 was a 400 and 405hp (C5 Z-06) rated 5.7ltr. The LS2 is the 6.0 rated at 400hp.

I can't believe with the internet age, and useful tools like GOOGLE...People still jabber about engines, and don't bother to look it up.

Check out some of the LSX boards, there have been plenty of CTS-V's that trap a mid 12 second MPH...But they have a stupid 6 lug design and a big heavy wheel with a glass rear end. So nobody really bothers to strap an 18" drag radial to them. They certainly make enough power to run into the 12's, if you can hold them down. Which seems to be the magic trick. I'm sure it's been done, just not very often.

Well, if they run deep in the 12's like that, I'm pleased with the outcome of my race. I only jumpedout about a car or so at the launch butfrom what I hear, we was supposed to make up that difference and edge me.Like I said before, the first race, I noticed him reeling me in very slowly. If he had launched nicely, I think he would've edged me. I think the race makes perfect sense in a way. There are many that can run mid 13's in a stock s197. With my mods, I can flirt with 12's(sea level language).

I always thought an S197 with catback or axleback, o/r pipe, intake, tune, 4.10's could get into the 12's no problem.

Well, I agree, but you know the kind of beating the S197's are taking from others[&:]. If I were to believe the internet community, I would be thoroughly convinced that they run 14's stock and get beat by an entire second in the quarter to LSX cars. I probably wouldn't have bought one. I love it because I like being the underdog with a surprise. I still remember Brnspd running a 12.8 with just their tune and some ET streets.

That's what I'm saying. Brenspeeds 05 GT with Mac mufflers, intake & tune, with ET Streets went 12.8 @ 105mph. Full weight and all. I have intake & tune, Flowmaster mufflers and an o/r x-pipe, so now all I need is some ET Streets and I should be in the 12's right? LOL, I know I wouldnt but still, if 12.8 is doable, than I need some ET Streets.

The key to these cars is the launch. I'm learning mine better now. I think Ford was thinking 60 ft when they made them or something because they launch very well. They don't pull like the Srt 8's, LSx's and all, but they can out launch them and make the race very difficult for them, as my race showed me. The biggest surprise for me was when I had the stock gears in and only The C&L CAI and Brenspeed tune and I raced a Camaro SS Auto with 3:73's(he said). He got out first and stayed ahead by a car. The surprise was that I was creeping in on him, which I wasn't expecting. Stock, it wouldn't have happened, but reflash these things and it's a different ball game, I think. I didn't get a chance to race him, but my friend Eric did and he won that race. He was happy bout that. I wanted that kill[>:].

I've been looking for an LS1 Camaro or T/A, or even an SRT-8 Charger to race since I got my intake/tune and o/r x-pipe on. One day I'll found one and race, hopefully anyways.

Oh, I thought it said they run mid 12's. My bad. Nevertheless, I've heard of GTO's and other LSx's to run in the 12's. Okay, you said TRAP a 12 second MPH, which means they have launch issues. Got it.
