Here comes mag racing...

Motor Trend had a test comparing the CTS-V(LS6), 300C SRT-8, and the GTO (LS2). In the quarter mile, I believe the CTS edged out the GTO by a few tenths.

Whats the actual elevation up there? I can nab the DA times from GLDs website and convert.

What was 60ft / 1/8th??
My 60 was 2.0 something. I believe the 1/8th was 9.1 or 2. Timeslips are in the car.

Eh...He'd be at like 13.55 or somewhere like that. 5880 ft is a bunch man. Holy crap.
5880 ft is no fun at all. One of my friends has a pullied Cobra that hasn't broke into the 12's yet. I ahd another friend with a Heads/Cam/Full exhaust LS1 that ran mid 13's all day long with serious traction problems. It's brutal. Not just the altitude, but the track itself. When I went to California and drove the Impala rental, which had 250hp, It felt like my mustang did up here when it was stock. I was amazed. 14.4's, which was my best that day, would probablyyield 13.2/3 on a similar(sloppy) track according to calculators and stuff. One thing about the mountains is that wind is usually a factor a lotof times, so you can't go by calculators and stuff all the time. That's why people get confused at GTO's running anywhere from low 14's to mid 15's up here. A well prepped track could yield me a 12.99 or more often 13.0's and 1's at sea level. I've got enough mods to have me in the high 12's right now with the right driver. 13.55(Mid 14.6's and 7's here) I didstock. I have enough mods to chip away enough tenths to have me at the high 12 border at sea level. I haven't went head to head with a close to stock or stock LS2 GTO yet, but they seem to run anywhere from 14.4's to very low 15's on a bad run as do the LS1's from what I've seen.

Yes it does, but up here, we forget about it at times. Everything is slower here, so it balances out.

I figured it balanced out, but it would just suck knowing your car should be deep into the 13's, but it isnt.

Damnit I'm at work and cant view the video. Anyways, you might have raced an 04 or 05 because those 2 years they had an LS1 in them. But if youknow for a fact that it was an LS2, thanI guess you can say your couple of bolt ons helped out alot since the CTS-V's run low 13's to high 12's stock. Nice kill man.
Incorrect. They are all rated at 400hp. The first years had an LS6. They run low 13s with a perfect launch which is just about impossible with their wheel hop. I don't think a stock CTS-V has ever ran a 12.99 or better. Nice run, gears made it.

2004 Model CTS-V I believe has a 6.0L LS6 in it and I believe in 2005 they went to the LS2's...can't remember for sure but I think that's right...
