EVO or STI??
my uncle has a 1984 subaru wagon with 267,437 miles on it.....original engine, runs like new.........that should say something........i have never heard of a mitsubishi doing that
just remember, its not an n/a 4 cylinder....so dont feel so bad
I know. I'm trying to catch up to a 4 cylinder.
Good input overall in this thread. Nvr2old I love your white Evo man, that's my favorite color on the STi / Evo. You're absolutely right, the STi is a complete pain in the *** to do work on yourself, with anything other than exhaust / intake. I still have my "green bracket of death" that is involved with an injector swap sitting around my house somewhere [8D]
If your goal is 350whp, you should be completely fine with either car, on stock block / drivetrain unless you abuse the hell out of it. I drive my STi typically at 450ishwhp and I've had no problems with my gears / axles. I also religiously rev match and don't powershift / launch the ***** out of it.
Drive both of them and see which fits you better!

personally i love the STIs, ive been in one n ive been in WRX and they are awesome, i would never wanna get an import over a muscle car but if i did i would so get an STI, ive never been in a evo but STIs look far better in my opinion
I love the way WRX transformeds sti is set up. I want a FMIC on the STI if I go that route. I'm thinking STI, but I guess it will come down to which one I can get the better deal on.
Thanks man =)
It's too bad you didn't let me know sooner, I actually just sold it to a friend of mine for extremely cheap. I needed to dump it because I just bought a house down near Charlotte and I never drive it anyway

Ha ha, when he removes it from my driveway
I'm still waiting on his down payment and some paperwork to be finished up for the bank. It will be sad to see it go I guess, but life is all about bigger and better things! Hopefully my next project car will be a Z06 like yours

If you wantto look good from outside, bad from inside, go equally fast in a straightline but with slightly better handling and stiffer ride with the chances of braking your tranny or/and clutch. Go with the EVO.
If you want to look alright from outside (car enthusiasts think it looks good, regular people think its ugly), and alright/good from inside, go equally fast in a straightline, decent in the curves, better daily driver and good reliability. Go with the STI.
Simple.

Well I saw a video on a comparison between the EVO and STI, and it said the STI handled slightly better. They had some kind of meter which measured the amount of grip each one had going through turns and it said the STI had a little edge on the grip. Anyhow, I'm going to look into the tranny/clutch problem in the EVO. I'm leaning STI right now just because it seems like I can find better deals on them right now, and it seems like people are saying they are more reliable, but it's contrary to what J.D power is saying in comparison. Here's thier ratings
