+ 2 on the evo 5 they look better

 

Well on the up side this is supposed to be the best handling EVO ever. All the new turbo toys that are coming out this year are a let down in my opinion, The EVO &SRT-4 Are both way slower and uglier than previous models and theWRX &STI looks like something from a childs drawing, it's so bad.[:@]

 

From what I understand, they tried to make the new gen Evo more plush and comfortable..........less of a stripped down road racer. I'm guessing that's where all the extra weight is coming from. But without adding significant HP, all that added weight makes them a lesser performer than previous gens. Whether all this is a good thing or not depends on the potential buyer. Gearheads will probably whine about it......casual buyers who think they'll look cool for owning an Evo will dig it.[X(]

 

yea i know wtf. The evo IS slower, but like you said it goes around a track better. Only problem is, that is not gonna help em sell. They needed to make this evo a 12 second car, because for the price you should get nothing less. Making it slower ina straight line than the previous model was stupid, but hey i actually kinda like the looks and its much nicer than the last model so who knows it might end up being a success.

 

The new EVO is supposed to be a LOT (read: A LOT) more responsive to mods than the older versions. I think that's the only big appeal to this car. The Japs are smart marketers... they know that probably 95% of the people that own these cars are enthusiasts or wannabe enthusiasts and will end up modding them. Japanese automakers have had gentlemen's agreements for years to limit horsepower levels between each others' products, so instead they boost the potential of their cars as aftermarket tuner vehicles. At least that's what I've experienced with the import scene over the years.

The looks of course are subjective. I think this car would look a lot better in person. The new Lancers look very similar and I've seen a few in person and thought they looked pretty good.

 

i think it looks a lot better than the previous shoe-box style.

Score...now I don't have to worry about Evos anymore...woot!!!

 

C&D also had not much good to say about the new SRT-4. What a shame.....it sounds like both of them got the short end.

 

i actually think they look pretty good, but 13.8? WEAK SAUCE!! i think the old lancers are way uglier than this new gen; to each his own, i guess...
