LS1 Corvette!?!?
That cant be true because I trap at 105 to 106 mph at 13.0 flat in good weather. They have a lot better top end than I do. He said it was completely stock. It sounded stock... the exhaust was stock and he trapped at 112 and 114.
Lol.. I think 98 took too many happy pills..
But yes. STOCK C5 will run low low 13's to high 12's depending on driver and prep. He's got a hell of a trap speed and really bad control of his motor skills. He should have his car taken away from him as well as castrated (sp) for the fun of it. My guess is that he is pulling like a 2.6 60 foot.... or worse.
BTW. the LS1's trap higher for some reason then even LT1's do. I'm thinking that the Alum driveshaft has a little to do with it but meh...

The trap speed indicates how much horsepower your car is making. Comparing E.T's and trap speeds from car to car can be misleading on how a car runs. With LS1's and like every other car manuals trap higher speeds than auto's because they don't lose as much horsepower thru the drivetrain. Auto's with high stall converters will easily run a better E.T. because they are getting more torque to the ground but have a slower trap speeds. As for the vette 14's @114 means his launches were really bad, but it is an easy 12 sec car with a good driver and or better tires.
Here in Oklahoma with the heat and humidity the auto vettes have gone 13.8 while the manuals have gone 13.2-3's. Auto vettes have very tall gears 2:73's or 3:15's, manuals run 3:42's.
I'd say mid-13's AT WORST... My Corolla runs a 14.3 in the 1320 and I just happened to line up with a Vette(only mod was exhaust) a few months ago. Needless to say he handed me and my 14.3 our lunch that night... so im going with mid-13's at worst.
