LS1 power
Okay, I don't know where all you guys are from but it must be STOCKTOWN USA. I go to the track every week and I RARELY see bone stock cars there. All this debate is over this stock 04 vs. this stock 02 - yada...yada...yada...
The street legal tracks have always been and always will be a RUN WHAT YOU BROUGHT experience. Stock vs. Stock is mute - trap time mph is mute - shoulda-coulda-woulda BENCH RACING is mute - caught him on a rolling onramp is mute - the ONLY thing that matters is ET's! WHO IS THE FASTEST?
I have seen mustangs smoke vipers, seen neons smoke mustangs, seen VW beetles smoke blown 41' *******, seen a MAC truck run 9.40 1/4 mile. But what I have never seen....
is an elephant fly.... or so much debate over stock vs. stock when nobody is 'stock' anymore.
PEACE!

Yep, the ZL1s were beasts. And I believe that it was the same motor in the 'vette called the L88, which was a beast, but suffered from bad gearing and extremely skinny tires. They were factory rated at like 460 or so, but actually pulled a tad over 600. Talk about underestimating. I saw a replica ZL1 motor for sale for 5k in the bargain trader a while ago. Wish I had had the money.
Has anybody ever heard of a Nickey Mantle Camaro? I can't remember how many were made, but they were produced in 2002 with a Twin Turbo set-up and made just over a 1000 whp. And they were said to be extremely mild-driving. Small-*** turbos. I'm looking up info on 'em but it's hard to come by...

No, I'm pretty sure it said "Nickey Mantle", but the internet keeps giving me Mickey Mantle. Apparently Nickey was some car dealer back in the '60s and produced special edition Camaros, but I just wanna find more info on 'em...
^wow, no never heard of that one...
have heard of all the Yenkos. but never a NIckey Mantle... sounds nice tho lol
Yeah Chevykiller... your right on Stock vs Stock is almost NEVER in a Race....
and yes ETs are all that matters...
but thats what this whole thing is over is STOCK vs STOCK...
take stock camaro z28... throw all the BASIC Bolt ons.
and take a stock 2004 mustang gt... throw all the basic bolt ons.
yeah still teh z28 will take the GT to the ground. (sure I dont have to tell you that... common sense)
but I have had enough argue... I think very many GREAT points were proven here.

That was my whole point - what is the debate? There is no sound argument for Ford stock being better than chevy stock. I love my stang and I will continue to 'out-mod' the chevy's as best my bank account will allow... but love your mustang or not, you have GOT to respect the chevy engine stock build since the dawn of muscle car creation.
