LS1 power

Thats becauase every 16 year old girl has one, including my sister. Anyone with half a brain realizes the LS1 motor itself was not a major selling point to anyone, much like the 4.6 in your uber fast GT's.

To gearheads and people who actually know wtf theyre talking about, yes, it was. But thats an extremely small part of the population. GM sold the LS1 to the general public as a "5.7 Liter V8". They were simply going on the fact that most people would simply want a "big V8'.
Ford is/was doing the same thing with the 03/04 cobras, they are selling them as a "supercharged V8". Not mainly as a 32 valve, 4 cam technologically advanced wonder. People hear "supercharger" or "V8" and that is what sells to the majority of people.
I bought my car for the LS1 as well, but the general public thinks either "V6" or V8", and doesnt care much past that. They dont care that a set of longtubes, a cam, and a cutout can net them around 400rwhp on motor. nor that a pully and exhaust on a cobra will get them around 450 to the rear wheels. They just want to drive their car and dont want their **** to break.

Dust in the wind until the concept that GM is officially calling "Camaro" debuts in january.
I can't believe this arguement. The LS1 F-bodies are much faster than GT mustangs. They are faster than 99-04s stock and faster than '05s stock. I can't remember who made the comment about the GTOs but they are selling well for '05. There is no V6 so you are not going to see them everwhere like you see a Mustang. The GTO is like a luxury car inside, it is big, comfortable and pretty fast. I do think that the Mustangs look better than F-bodies but that is probably why they sell better. The F-body is in no way an ugly car. I find the F-bodies a little uncomfortable to ride in but you can't argue with low 13s stock. The Mustang sells better because it attracts a wide variety of people. I love Mustangs but you can't argue that they are all around better than GMs muscle cars because they are not. Each car has things that they do better than the other. I must say though before you bash the GTO ride in one and drive it. You will have a very different thought about that car after that. I love my buddy's GTO. It is probably the roomiest 2 door I have ever been in.
