It's got a HEMI!

If they made it a "real" hemi that wouldn't be very innovative on their part.
The new and IMPROVED hemi head Pictured in the above post has squish pads to quench the chamber which greatly improves torque and power. Other than those improvements, the valve positions remain the same.[8D]

And all 16 of the spark plugs.

the cylinder isn't hemispherical therefore disregarding the fact it was ever a HEMI to begin with
I think it's funny when I talk tech every now and again and am right about something everyone gets asshurt and reverts to "WHY SHOULD I CARE!" "PFFFT AS LONG AS IT MAKES POWER!'
ok, next time we get into a tech arguement about the new modular 4.6L I will call it an OHV motor and see how well it goes over
lol I feel like I'm dealing with 6th graders

It is kind of a "semi-hemi", so the nostalgic nameplate is "semi-applicable".

Call it what you like, it doesn't change anything.

but let me ask you about your 5.0L DOHC 32V modular motor.... I thinkI will do this from now on in as I guess the assembly of the engine doesn't really matter
man I love those 16V SOHC northstars the STS caddies have
Holy ****, I go out to dinner for a few hours and come back to this......
Anyways, in regards to some of the points I caught here and there in the last few pages-
1) The new 911 GT3 is a 3.6, not a 3.8.
2) The new GT3 is not turbocharged, it's n/a
3) Not taking one side or the other, but moving ahead on Porsche's time line, their recent offerings range from 320-415 hp, all from normally aspirated engines 3.6 or 3.8 liters of displacement.
4) If we're gonna compare engine's based on displacemet alone, Porsche also makes an NA5.7 engine. And it produces 612 hp.
5) It's not really fair to 'compare' a 911's engine to the 5.7 unit found in the LX cars. To use them relatively speaking in an observation, is fine, but outright comparison is not just.
6) I also can see the other side, too, though. They do seem to make not much power in terms of their size. Look at the 3.5 V6 found in the Chargers and 300's. 253 hp versus Nissan's 306 hp and Toyota's 306 hp V6 of the same displacement. But in Dodge's defense, the Jap offerings come more strung out from the factory.
Idk, both sides have their good points, and their weak points. There's really no reason in arguing the point any farther, as the debate as already resulted in personal insults and pop-shots......
....and besides, we all know VQ35 > all................[8D]
