I’ve raced a million times during T&amp\\;amp\\;T and never thought about my reaction times.&amp\\;nbsp\\; Just making the car go as quick as possible with different techniques.&amp\\;nbsp\\; Just a thought for next time out.

I've raced a lot during T&T and I've never worried about RT. I just concentrated on making the car run the best number possible. Why waste a whole pass trying to beat the 11 second Hondizzle next to you? 1/8th mile of course, since their is no such thing as an 11 second Honda....[8D]

Yup I agree Derek. I never care about R/T in test and tune. I race off a .400 Pro Tree anyways so for me to try cut a light at T&T would be pointless, it alomst impossible to get a .400 pro tree during T&T so I get very little practice on the tree.

Sure everyone wants the best number possible. But fact of the matter is, first person to the end of the track (1/8 time signs or 1/4 time signs on a 1/4 track) wins. If someone runs a 12 flat to my 14, but they fall asleep at the light, and I make it down the track first....I win.

Pretty simple actually. They teach you in grade school, that first one to the end wins in a race.[8D]

To each his own, but last time I checked, TRUE racing involves all aspects with times. If R/T wasn't important, then it wouldn't be on the slip. It's just those that aren't able to master the R/T, obviously downplay it a bit.

Exactly...you sure nailed me on that one.

When I run that 14 second pass and still beat the 10 second car next to me, I feel so proud of myself. Hell, I might even make a thread about it occasionally.

It's almost like winning by default, or maybe outrunning a one legged man. A win is a win.

Yeah, I SMOKED a Camaro because I jumped the tree by three seconds....uber pwnage. Boy I tell ya, it added 3 mph and subtracted .3 from my 60 ft. [8D]

R/T isn't important on a TNT night...don't know how much more that can be said in here. It only matters during bracket racing, which ripped camel doesn't do...[sm=grin.gif]

Well sinse you have the R/T down to a science you can work on the rest of the slip now. Like how to run those low 13 second E/T you said you and the stang had in it.[8D]

At a T&T night your really not racing, at least I am not. I don't pay much attention to what I line up. Start racing in a class and then maybe you brag about you R/T. And FWIW I think I have the tree down pretty well. I run a .400 tree which is way harder to cut a good light on than a .500 Sportsman, especially on a car with no trans brake (like mine). A .400 is a perfect light and I am in the low .500's.
