Um...less attention in an SRT4? I don't really think they get that great fuel mileage either. I think its hilarious that you have to bring up that "its a grown up decision". If its really a grown up decision, you would get rid of the Mach and get a Taurus or another sixxer family sedan that only sips fuel instead of guzzles it.
How about an S197 sixxer, used?

It's grown up b/c I'm thinking financially. And like I said, I don't want something slow, so no regular slow sedans. The SRT-4 is a good middle ground. I already had an S197 sixer and they are nice and ok on fuel, but from reading reviews I've heard srt-4's getting 20mpg+ in the city and 30mpg+ on the highway which is damn good, not to mention it will handle better in the rain and snow then a mustang could.
Trading a car in, doesn't really mean you're thinking "grown up" because you're thinking financially.. chances are, are that you're going to lose money in the end by going through the trade. Most people do. Your monthly payment might be lower - but you'll probably lose more in the end. I am not trying to talk you out of the deal, but that's what's going to happen.. I see and saw it everyday - in car sales, and in banking. Buying a car when yours isn't yet paid off is almost always going to net you a loss.

So your saying my Loudmouth 2 cat-back, O/R H-pipe, Torch Red Mach 1 with a shaker and badges will get less attention than a stock SRT-4 most likely without a wing(I don't like them)? Come on. My old S197 V6 with a cat-back and headers will probably have gotten a lot more attentionthan an SRT-4 which so manynon-car enthusiastsknow nothing about.Don't talk aboutstuff that's untrue. Your picturing a punk kid driving an SRT-4, not a responsible young adult behind the wheel of the car

Where have you seen 30+mpg for the SRT4? Do they come with all season tires or summer tires?

Change your mind? I could also return it back to stock over a weekend since I have the oem mid-pipe, cat-back, and shifter.
Go ahead, but they won't be. I can tell you that when I was car shopping the SRT4 was more expensive then my 2003 Cobra... and I have 0 wrong with my driving record while living in a low insurance city.. could be different for you - but, the SRT4 was a good 400 per 6 months more expensive then my Cobra, GT and my Mach (from 2005-present).
No disrespect meant to you, but you're a young 19... but so was I.

You are looking for less attention in a car, but an SRT4 isn't exactly a car that blends with traffic (removing the wing helps). A lot of the younger crowd still know what an SRT4 looks like, so either way you aren't really hiding under cover in one of those, regardless of how you drive.

I've thought about trading my car in many times but I always come to the same conclusion, its not worth it. I did the math over and over again, I drive about 15k miles a year most if not all in the highway, the only way for me to save a considerable amout of money in gas is by switching to a corolla or something similar. Also, after you drive that srt-4 for a few months you will want to modify, its in a car enthusiast blood. Think about it, dont make quick decisions, do someresearch on the srt-4.Good luck.

. I should be okon the mods, b/c I don't care for neck snapping speed anymore and I don'tstreetrace. Speed is fun, but Ino longer feel the need for a ton of it anymore. I should be fine. The exhaust alone onmy mach made me happy, so probably a little bitof the turbo sucking sound now and then will keep me happy(notvery frequently b/c I am looking at it for mpg).
