a car with the kind of power that youre making is going to take a TREMENDOUS amount of practice to get as consistant as you need to be in order to compete (unless youre at nopi with the kids who think that a 800 light is "pretty good" ), and the easiest way that youre going to have mechanical help with becoming consistant would be ensuring consistant traction.

The point of this post I guess is, I was wondering if anybody else was having problems with lack of consistency with a basically stock 197. I guess I should just get of DR and see what happens. Thanx for the advice guys.
My 07 is very consistant. Any in-consistant issues is driver related. If I do my job and stage the car properly, I can take a DA reading off my weather station andthe car will run dead on the number predicted. Basically stock car.

95 383lt1 t400 4.11 12 bolt formula firebird. tbrake for the 12.0 index class, foot brake for street and pro. I deep stage everything unless i use the trans brake on the bird. Bird goes 12.00 @ 118 on motor in good air. 12.00 at 114 in bad air. I also campained a 99 vette in the 2005 season, and had succes running a stock 95 lt1 formula convertable. Ran a 07 cobllt in the import events, had a win in my 05 Silverado diesel (broke the firebird unhitched the trailer and ran the truck). Ran a 03 Trailblazer for 1/2 a seson after the firebird engine went southback in 2003. IMO the GM cars are very unconstistant. I finally got the 95 firebird bracket car to run consistant after a lot of data and re-tuning. Everything else I had to learn to hold a ton and back in on the top end. The Mustang runs so consistant its scarey. Next season my daughter will most likely be running the Mustang and I will be back in the firebird or take up a offer to campaine a 79 10 second Malibu.
