well i just saw the 8.75, and 1600hp and made an assumtion. THen i read about how they didnt do much to the suspension and is still on IRS. I based my assumtion on a 1000hp twin turbo charger that runs 7s. But of course the charger wasnt built to be a street car

Yeah, 8.75 is not very impressive at all for 1600 hp. The 1200 hp LPH Vette was pulling similar numbers.

But I guess that's what happens with IRS and a 6spd. A solid axle and 2-spd powerglide will fix it.

I would never buy a Viper for a drag car though. Why would you take something than can pull 1.02g skidpad and 71mph slaloom and use it to go straight only?

I have a buddy with a 92LX that has twin turbos, and he tells me all the time that superchargers are for people that want to sound like they have horsepower but are afraid to really have horsepower.

Ask your buddy why Top fuel dragsters are all supercharged and not turbo charged. Supercharger > Turbo for "REAL" horsepower. Tell your buddy turbo's are for supras and to go buy a import.

Turbo > SC for top power. yes it may have lag if you don't know how to get a properly sized turbo for your engine, BUT

PSI and other modifications being EQUAL, the Turbo will out perform the SC in power production.

Yeah those numbers for the Viper are not impressive at all for the 1600 hp. MY uncle is Pushing a Porsche Gemballa 850 at 9.77 @ 156 and its only got 850 horses. Not that im much into turbos or imports for that matter but its not a rice burner. Hey and its street legal so i dunno i aint feeling that viper that much.

Yea, whatever. I'm sure he will get right on that. His LX is making 500rwtq at 3000 RPM. I don't think anyone is going to sell him on a SC.
