I run an entire local F body forum and to be honest i have only seen a couple 10 bolts break. They break when people do things like launch off spray with a 4k stall  I also have a friend who broke an 8.8 with his stock 2v so anything is possible. Ah blanket statements...

JD's car (the other mod here in S/S) ran sub 11's on the stock 10 bolt too IIRC...or it was a low 11 second pass, something fast.

Have you owned a Bullitt before? If not, then you're dumb. I'm not going to list all of the specifics but there is more than meets the eye. There are numerous reports that the Bullitt was under rated from the factory. Not much more but still more nonetheless. As for the suspension package, it does make a difference, trust. 83gt was right, his 4th just ran out to 130-135ish compared to my 120 (3.73's). Tired engine? lol

I think Bullitt's are fffin sexy. But she's a little slow. I'd like to throw in a coyote motor after she dies, but that will be awhile, I hope.

http://www.stangbangers.com/01_Bullitt_Article2.htm

Made 236rwhp, 279rwtrq
Ran 13.90s in some heat, 13.70s reported by owners. Quicker than the average GT.

Rest of the article is worth the read IMHO.

You gotta drive em like you hate em. Fifth gear is an overdrive. If you are shifting into 5th, you are definitely doing it wrong unless you are at 130 mph or above.

Gears, champ. 3.73's run out to 120mph in 4th, the wrong thing was how fast we were going. Not like there was a lot of traffic on the freeway at 2230, although we did have lots of room in front of us. Mexico does have some nice roads though.

I want to see what you can do with that car in the 1/4, Crash. I ran a Bullitt with 3.73s and some exhaust when I had the Balt. We went from a 30 roll, and I barely put him at my back bumper by 75 mph. My car was running 13.4 at 106 at the time, but from a roll is where that Balt really did work, so needless to say that Bullitt impressed me.

I know I know, I've been lagging on getting to the track. My B has yet to go. I have my stock wheels that I was planning on putting some DR's on. With the little experience that I have at the track, and adding the IRS I'm probably slower than the average Bullitt, but dammit I'm super comfy though lol. I ran a stock Balt s/c from a roll one night and barely pulled a foot on it. I could guess that if he had any mods he would've taken me.

I'll take IRS anyday over a SRA. Thats just me. Those Balts make big gains with a pulley/tune/injector. I went from 210 to 245whp for about $600. So yea, he might of got you with the right mods, but you know how the modding game goes, lol.
