Old gas smell on my spark plugs?
I replaced the plugs in my car and I ran into a couple of problems that I hope someone can help me with.
The first problem is on two of the plugs that I took out there is a old gas smell, like when gas turns to varnish. Has anybody run into this or know what would cause this.
The second problem is on the passenger side of the motor, the back spark plug hole and plug has rust in it, is there a way for water to get into the spark plug hole when it is all sealed up. There is no water in it now, just the rust.
Thanks, Keith

RE: Old gas smell on my spark plugs?
The gas smell probably means your running rich, which isnt bad. The rust probably came over time, someone might have replaced them in the past and moisture got in it and created rust.
