i just bought an 03 and its amazing..it runs like it should(itsa cobra come on) and dont worry about the handling, its good but your gonna have a hoping problem more than likely but a simple mod can fix that!what do you plan on doing to it.. peformance wise anyways?
[hr]03 svt cobra k&n cold air, 2.5 pully, diablo programer, motoblue hard launch kit, 3.75 gears and 4.10 rear end!

Its a good buy. They hold their value well and they are a fun car. I wouldnt pay more than 22k for an 03 and no more than 25k for an 04 imo. It'd be tough to find them in that price range, but thats allI think their worth.

Matt - you won't find them that low... unless they're salvaged... especially this time of year... but the price you pay, is what it's worth to you, so that's that.
The Cobra has a built motor, 6spd and IRS. Everyone knows about the power they make (360-380rwhp stock) and it's very easy to get to 500rwhp... They're an icon, and I get compliments on it all the time. They hold value remarkably well, and I lost all of 1mpg from my GT with 250rwhp to the Cobra. The motor itself can normally hold up to the upper 600rwhp reliably - once you cross 700+ you start getting on the line of, watching the power level.... but that's a lot of power.
The bad things are: the IRS, comfortable ride, but horribly bad put together... it takes a few mods for it to be reliable... but, could be cured with a straight axle swap. but as long as you dont power through the wheelhop you'd be fine. The other negative thing about it, is the heat.. It creates a ton of heat, and if you stay in boost to long you will pop your motor... The supercharger is maxed out around 500-525rwhp... so if you want real power you need to get another power adder (Nitrous) or do a blower swap. The heat is kryptonite for our motors, and you need to have the proper cooling mods, unless you want an excuse to buy a new motor. Finally, the cars are total pigs... very heavy cars, 3665 is the curb weight, factor our fatasses in there you're tipping the scales at alteast 3800lbs.
I think I got most of them - check out Cobrabobs FAQs...

You're right, few and far between... and the first things that was taught to me when I was selling cars was..
"In order for the person to buy, you have to justify the price to the buyer, or you could sell him the car for $100.00 and they will never buy it."... if 27k isn't justifiable to you for the car... then it never will be... That's fine... but like you said - obviously it is to some people.. just like paying 70k for a Shelby, hahaa.... morons they are.. lol

Def. get one they are way worth it. They don't handle like a normal mustang they feel light and well balanced. They stop great and accerlerate great stock (enough to beat c5 vetts stock) They are cheap to mod and there are 2 guys that go to the dyno day all the time at this shop by my house... one has a twin turbo kit with ported heads and cams and puts over a thousand hp at the wheels with the stock bottom end and quite a few K miles on that setup and engine. The second friend of mine has a 3.4 whipple with 24 lbs of boost and a 150 shot so their engines can run amazing at high hp with the riight tune and i have never herd of them blowing up with the right tune.

I bought an 03 in AZ a little over 3 weeks ago for 26k with 25k miles on it. Lots of mods and freakin fast. Be patient when looking. There is a stock 03 maroon in AZ for 23500. As far as the whell hopping.......I have drag radials and lowered on eibachs about 2 inches and I dont have any and Im running somewhere around 500hp. Handles like a champ.
