blown head gasket 97 cobra
I'm looking for a reccomended shop in sacramento to fix the blow head gasket or possibly both sides. I have a KB SC on right now and im sure that might add a little labor but...
How much should this cost me. Labor only because im sure I can find a good price on a gasket set.
And anyone in Sacramento intrested in fixing this for me? I have cash or cash + a 95? cobra rear end to pay, Im also living in the natomas area. Thanks

If you change one head gasket they will prob tell you to change both. You should check out 03-04 cobra internals or better rods and pistons since your already taking the heads off so you can run more boost and don't have to worry about your internals later. But i have no clue what head gasket cost are for cobras they are a bunch because the dohc-ness. Good luck though

RE: blown head gasket 97 cobra
If you blew the headgaskets on a 4v 4.6, then I think you're in for more than you realize.
99% of the times I've seen head gasket failure in these tings its's because of detonation.
I have a feeling that once you pull the heads off the pistons are going to looi like the surface of the moon. (Craters and pits.)
Personally, if I were pulling the motor apart and even CONSIDERING new pistons and rods, I wouldn't use the stock 03/04 cobra stuff. I'd look at CP pistons.
The stock cobra stuff is great, but it's not as good as what's out there. For what you'd pay for that stuff, you can spend just a little more and really step up.
