Default Putting in o/r H-pipe...

My mechanic told me that the check engine light is going to come on and suggested that we put the 02 sensors on the new o/r pipe. Should I leave the sensors off or are there any other problems I'm going to have to account for?

You need the front O2 sensors, its the back O2s that cause the CEL to come on. You can either turn off the rear O2s with a tuner or get MILs.

Now when you guys say "tune"...would a dyno-tune do the trick or are we talking an SCT/Diablo type tuner?

dyno would be awesome its the best u can do but if u are plannin on doin more mds in the future then get SCT...with those u can change them ur self to ur new mods and u dont have to pay the 2 to 5 hundred dollars each time u wanna dyno....when u kno ur done moddin i would go get a dyno and be done wit it....

I was told that the hand held tuners won't work for my car...(97Cobra) So I think a dyno is going to be my best bet. I think I've modded this car enough for at least a year. The only thing I'd really like to do is get LT's but have to build my slush account back up.

I had a SCT handheld on my '97 GT. it worked fine. The only thing it won't do is adjust for gear change, because the speed sensor goes right to the cluster, bypassing the CPU.

Was it manual or automatic?
