96 Cobra, blown head gasket.
Im looking at a 96 Cobra that someone has locally, it looks okay but he says the engine wont run due to a blown head gasket.
Assuming it's just a blown gasket...how big of a job is this, really?
Im not looking too seriously at it, it has a purple over black 2 tone paint job, and doesnt have the original engine in it for unknown reasons.
But he is asking 2800....

well blown head gasket shouldnt keep it from running just make it run like utter **** ie burn oil coolant lower compression also the 2 fluids mixing in places they shouldnt be....i would run and run fast sounds way more of a prob then a blown head gasket...you also gotta think why did it blow what happened when it blew to make the car stop working..you can find a better working car for the money and hassle of gettin this thing running

Changing the gasket out on a DOHC isn't the worst thing i've had to do on a mustang but its not the most simple. On a scale of difficultly 5 being the most difficult, it'd say it's a good 3.5 or 4. It will take you at least a weekend but a blown head gasket that was ran for any length of time could have caused other issues. Overheating is a big killer so you may want to negotiate that price down even further due to the amount of work that may ultimately have to go into the car. Lets us know what you decide and if you do purchase it we can help from there on any repair questions you might have.
