Default 03/04 FW resurfacing

Anyone know for sure if you can or can not resurface a stock "aluminum" 03/04 cobra flywheel?

I'm doing a TOB/clutch next week in my Mach and could get a stock 03 cobra flywheel for fairly cheap but it would need some TLC. I figured the cobra one would be a little upgrade of my stock steel one.

It's my DD and not high HP. I have read a 50/50 mix of "yes" and "no".

yes it can be as long as its not to tore up...the fact that you said TLC makes me think its not in good enough condition to reuse it...i wouldnt waste the time and money resurfacing do it right get a good new one and resurface that one next time as long as you dont burn it up

On Aluminum Flywheels don't they have a steel insert for the friction surface therefore making it so the inset has to be replaced and can not be resurfaced. That is my understanding.
Aluminum does not make a good friction surface for the clutches is why they have the steel inserts. I could be off here but this is what logic tells me

i have never actually seen a stock 03/04 cobra flywheel so i dont know about that but all the aftermarket aluminum ones ive put in have had those places and they were held in by small torque head screws or allen screws.

that does make sence though bramas

BraMas is right, they have an insert. After a long time searching I guess it can be done on the 03/04's but isn't a common thing...

I guess you can sedn them to fidanza to have the insert taken out and a new one riveted in. Most aftermarket ones have bolts holding the insert in so they can be replaced.

I nixed buying the flywheel. I'm just going to have the shop resurface mine...well actually install a stock one they have laying on the shelf already resurfaced to lessen the downtime of the install.

Thanks for the reply's guys.
