I had to update my X3 so I went to the site and followed the wrong instructions and now the driver wont come up, I got a email tune from Brenspeed and cannot get the computer to intreact with the device. I followed the site troubleshooting steps and got nothing out of it and the car sits as the tune is needed.

I have the tune file, the SCT device updater program, the software updates (but not installed?), and something called the firmware, and then started the the program and it would not read the file in the email tune, error popped up now nothing.

Does my OS (vista) have problems with SCT and the device?

Yea, I do hate computers and I don't work well with them but I know I am not the first to face this....odds are against it.

Unplug the tuner and restart you PC. When the PC is back on, plug the tuner in and look for a message that pops up and says "Windows Needs to Install Driver Software" and click where it says Locate and Install Driver Software (Recommended). Give it some time to do its thing, can click on the green spotlight in the bottom right of the screen for progress. This might resolve your issue.
