I don't get why it snaps either. I've never seen a parking brake cable snap before. If your able to pull the parking brake lever all the way up and it still isn't applied it sounds like there is too much slack and I don't see why the cable would snap. I'm not sure where your located, but if your around columbia, md I can adjust free of charge. It only takes about 10 minutes. Or you could be take it to midas or minakee and have them look at it. They shouldn't charge to much to adjust the parking brake.

you know what....if you can look at it look for anything that may be hitting it or rubbing on it to see if its that...have it pulled up and everything and check the whole thing

sounds good. its too cold outside to replace it now. But it must be rubbing on something for it to snap like that. none the less it sure is a pain in the a$$
