Default Auto-Tranny Quesitons

So I'm looking through some magazines reading articles about mustangs I will only dream about and I'm getting a little confused when it comes to tranny's. I know mine is the 4R70W or whatever it's called and I know that there is the AOD and the AOD-E. What I don't know is what the difference is between them. Which one's bolt up to which engines, how much power can the stock transmissions take etc. Can any one shed some light on this subject?

It depends on the year of your car. The difference is that the AODE has overdrive. I have a 2002 with an AODE. I put a shift kit in it so it is capable of handeling more power. Im not sure how much it power it can handle.
