Default Power Locks question

First off, thisI just registered to the boards, thanks for having me!
Now onto the problems, lol!

I have a 2000 ford mustang, v6. Yesterday the Power Locks just stopped working, I changed the 40a fuse under the hood, that didnt help, I am in the process of changing the under the dash fuse, if thats not it, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks again, this websiteis a really great resource to have!

Did both of them stop or just one?

Is it only when you use your remote, or when you use the switch on the door, or both?

Both doors arenot working, I dont use the remote. I changed both fuses(under the hood, and under dash) Now it seems that when I hit the unlock the driver side door will unlock, the passanger doesnt do anything and neither doorwill lock. I can hear it clicking underneath by the fuses. Could it be the relay switch?

thanks again for the help

the door panels are not that hard to remove. i might take them off and check all the connections that you can see in ther and just make sure that its not one of them. it kinda sounds like a relay but i dont really know anything about our wiring

+1, it only took me 5 minutes to change my passenger side auto window motor, and the switches only take 30 seconds to get to, if that.

yup. Take the door panels off and see if you are getting any juice to the door actulators....I dont see both going out at the same time but I guess anything is possible.

but if its something in the door, would that explain both locks going out at the same time?
thanks for all the help

if you have a bare wire thou it could be causing a short which made them both go out but u also said that you just unlocked the drivers door but couldnt lock either one of them so thats why i think it may be something in the wiring like a knicked wire or sumthing
