my car started making a weird noise about a week ago. it is a squeaking noise that is audible from outside the car at idle and doesnt go away at acceleration, only when i put the clutch in does it stop. it might be an obvious answer but im not sure. i had someone tell me it wasnt the clutch but could be a slave cylinder. which would make sense because when i shift into 5th often it grinds. any help would be appreciated. thanks
