Default Inside light wont shut off.

My stang is a vert, so the inside light is in the rear-view mirror. It has always functioned normally.

However, the last couple days it will stay on after I close the doors and even after I start the car. I drove all the way home tonight and it never shut off. It has been doing this the last couple days.

Even when I park and lock the car, the light stays on and doesn't dim away like it normally does after I press the lock button on the key fob.

I have done the usual stuff like checking the fuses, messing with the switches, closing and locking the doors multiples times, but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas?

Unplug it so it doesnt drain your bat or trade with me for my Coupe's rear view.

By any chance did you happen to get water on it by accident? Water could be jumping the circuit causing it to stay on. The plug could also have water in it as well.

Try taking it off and putting it ontop of your fridge or over a heater vent for the night to see if that helps. You can also use a hair dryer set on low.

I like the vert's rear view mirror quite a bit because it has more heft to it and doesnt jiggle around like every other coupe mirror I have ever seen.

Whenever I find one cheap I buy it.

Does it think the door is open? My Ranger had the same problem. Spray some WD40 in the door latch and see if it goes away. Be very very liberal with it. And do both doors

My dome light stayed on all the time... I didnt know the fix so I just took the bulb out. Then one day I found the fix and the WD40 in the door latches really works.

The switch is built into the door latch, spray the latch really good with some wd-40 and it may come unstuck.
