Default brake question

The other day my passenger side rear brake seized up and I had to get a replacement. I noticed that when I come to a stop that there is smoke coming from the brake.

My question is what could be causing the smoking?

Could it be from where fluid is dripping down?

Thanks.

Pad burning off. A locked caliper can make discs HOT HOT HOT.

What would cause the pad to burn off? Its a new replacement caliper I got and only had it for a few days?

Ah, I read that as the original caliper locked up and smoked. My bad.

A new disc could have oil on it that might smoke off. Could also be the parking brake cable too tight, and holding the pad against the disc.

if you didnt clean the rotor with brake clean before you installed it, i would say its just the anti rust oil burning off... its only when you come to a stop right? not when your driving?
