I couldn't agree more about the $$$$. But I think I might look into 3.73's for my next mod, instead of foglights. I was going to get fogs cz i have tinted headlight covers now and was told it is hard to see at night so maybe ill just take them off when i drive at night...

If you try to build every single piece of the car, like a handful of us have, it doesn't matter what you're building, it all ends up costing about the same to get it all done.

A GT and Cobra are WAYY diffrent.

A V8 and a GT are diffrent too.
You could S/C a GT, then be even or a little over an LS1's power. Then do i/e on an LS1 (maybe a h/c or even a little spray) and you'll need a Cobra to catch 'em.

And any decent s/c kit with exhaust and gears on our car will spank a lightly modded GT.

Why does it always have to be the fastest car, or to beat a stock or lightly modded GT?

screw racing, I plan on modding my car a little bit just so its fun to drive, and because its something that I love to do.

And in my case, the car is paid for, so about $3500 or so, gears, s/c, and exhaust, and I have a car that is fun to drive, and I didn't have to pay $8000 for a whole new car...

Are you seriously that big of an LS fanboy? They aren't that fast, the fastest one they ever made was built in the damn 60's for christ sake. Even the "bad-***" LS2 only dyno's maybe 300 at the wheels, with a damn 5.7. Until the 500, the 4.6 was the biggest engine offered. And even the LS2 in a WS6 will still get smoked by a Stock S197 GT. Even on the LS forums they'll admit that most of them only run in the low-mid 14's.

vortech stock 2v = 394 rwhp, ala Mysteed.

so stock LS1 = 370+hp at the wheels?

wow seriously ryan? im dissapointed

there was no LS2 in a WS6, all Fbodys had the LS1, a 98-00 would put down ~300 at the wheels, a 01-02 (which had the LS6 intake) will put down over 300 HP, infact, they have put down as high as 320 RWHP, all 5.7s were 350 HP at the flywheel regardless of GM claims, it was to keep the vette pansys quite.

a Y87 equipped V6 fbody with bolt ons will run mid 14s, a LT1 will run high 13s-low 14s on a bad day, LS1 will run low 13s all day long with the possibility of brakeing 12s.

the LS1 will beat up a stock S197 all day long, s197s need intake/exhaust/tune for it to be a DRIVERS race.

LS1s are slow. LS-anythings are slow for the money.
If F bodies were so great then the Bowtie would still be made.
