I'm still building momentum up to 6,000rpms; which is more what autox is about than anything else.

The reason i run the car so high has been that even with 3.73s, the bottom of second bogs bad enough i just run faster pushing that high of rpms vs. shifting into second gear for two seconds, then back into first. I'm looking to remedy this though. NT05s are waiting for autocross season to start, so hopefully they'll provide enough grip to make second gear worth something!

automatic trans BTW

with ported upper/lower intakes the motor should make power higher than 5300-5400rpm. Probably not to 6,000; but 5700rpms shouldnt be out of the question

well if you have that much power second gear will probably not bog like that, it would be better to grab that low end torque than ride out high rpms
