shifting problem?

my car burped once two i was goin about 70 and i punched it and the rpm's went up real high and the car did not increase in speed. so i let of the throttle and it didn't do it again

That's the same thing that happened to me. I talked to a guy who owns a shop and he said that his Ford truck does it every once in a while. I figure it's a manufacturing thing. Look at the throttle lag glitch...(I know that could be fixed) He said it's bad if it's happening all of the time, but once isn't anything to worry about.
