RE: trouble starting your 2006 stang
they replaced the electronic throttle body
i forgot to add in my previous post that i had a problem when i started it (a few weeks before i had the problem above) and it tached at 2500 for a few seconds and then just shut itself off.
the second time when the wrench warning light came on..the motor was still running, radio working, etc but when i went to give it gas...the peddle was hard to push. i was on the beltway (695 in Maryland) coming off an decline and ready to start up an incline when this happened. luckily i was in the slow lane (because i was getting off at the next exit). pulled over turned it off and it wouldn't start. wait a few second and it started right back up. in the manual they call it the "limp home" called the dealer and they took it right in and fixed it.

Do you always fill up at the same gas station, or with the same brand? I have an '05, and ran into this problem three times in just over a week. After thinking about it, I realized that this was the first time I'd gone to a particular gas station with this car, and after I stopped going there, I haven't had a problem since. I ran it by the mechanic last time I was in the shop, and they looked, and agreed it was probably the gas.

From what I was told Gas is Gas and that most gas stations get their gasses from the same place even though it has a different name. Where the difference comes in is the additives that the different companies put in their gas...For example: Shell's V-power is the same as the premium gas you get from Esso, except that the V-power has a Ton more cleaners etc... added to it.
I am not sure how different additives can effect an engine...

I've had this hapen a few times as well on my 05. It is either when the temp gets cooler or it it rainy. The car will start and halfway it will struggle. If I keep the key turned it usually starts up.
