Don't let it get to you, we have digested that post so many times is sick!!!! You have to keep in mind the 4.0 has gone through its own evolution, and when they first came out in the explorers and rangers, they had a lotof issues with the timing chains. In all reality its a mature platform now, and these issues have since been resolved.

The SSM article is similiar, makes it sound like the engine will blow with any power adder. Frankly, its all in the tune!

Ok just like Rygen said don't let that get to you we went through this many times 9 months ago back in November same thing with Super Six Motors. A couple things to keep in mind Dave (Damage) has not modified any of these 4.0’s he is just saying how they are put together and mentions weakness ( also in the past )just like any other motors have. Dave talks a lot about the jackshafts chains cassettes yet we haven’t seen one problem with them.

Mike Bowen from Powerhouse have put these motors to the test, a year or more worth or track time running 11's & 12's, Paul from Pauls High Performance has a 4.0 supercharged also running 11’s & 12's.

I also don’t think Mike would be selling his turbos if he felt these motors were going to not make it. Its like any motor you build and race it is not the same as driving it totally stock and the life expectancy could be shortened.

Explorer Express has had their Superchargers on these motors for years also with good results.

The GT 4.6’s have weaknesses hang around in their forums for a while. So when reading that post Dave (Damage) think about the above.
