now im quite sure at least part of the reason this was started was because of the insanely large feedback my brother (torchv6) and i got from his post in the street/strip section "I love my v6, specially when it beats GTs"
First off... yes it happened... we are not liars... and do not have the time to waste making **** up...
second... it is 100% concievable (especially for us who KNOW it happened)... UNLESS YOU OWN A V8!! because a MILDLY modded v6 could NEVER beat a mildly modded v8!!!
Third... I cannot STAND when guys give no credit to v6s... but in a way... i can't help but love that fact... here's why... When they race a v6 and WIN who are they going to brag to? whoever they talk too will just say, "oh who cares... you beat a v6" But OH BOY why they LOSE!!!! they just lost to a V6!!!! and who will they talk to about that? NOBODY yet again... cuz they can't admit to anyone...let alone themselves they lost to a dredded V6!!! heh... those POS 5.0Ls and 96-98 4.6Ls will lose to my car EVERY time off the bottle... mildly modded or not... (had a few run ins)

If you are going to boast about your V6, you better be able to back it up 7 way to Sunday! My first ride was a 68 coupe with a torque-y little inline 6... nobody ever questioned me about not getting an 8 about that car.
I've had my share of ... why didn't you just get a GT?... But, it's from the idiot crowd that I really don't give a fig newton about their opinion... like a Ford Saleman who asked... a crowd of salesmen gathered around my car the other day, checking it out and asking about my mods when I got an oil change. One piped up. Then, they fired up a new GT in front of me. At least at idle, my exhuast was deeper and louder. And, I think my ride looked better too, imho (ugly, big rims on that GT with some uncomplimentary stripes... sucha shame).
But, I've gotten the most respect at the track. Build up a V6 a little and beat a few 8 cylinders... people get very excited. It's especially dandy when you're doing better than previous generation Cobras and GT's (even if they're crappy drivers since they probably should be whoopin' ya!).
This may be the first generation of sixer that Ford has gotten right in the Mustang. Now, it's up to us to educate the masses.

i completely understand that scrming... and agree myself... but he has not been to the track yet to recieve a timeslip... and therefore could not post one... and just because he doesn't have a video camera with him at all times... hasn't hopped on the dyno quite yet... and has not been able to run at the track (we went and it was import day

And that's all the v6 Mustang is - A Ford Taurus engine in a watered down Mustang body. Go mod a Chevy Impala and tell the GTs you can beat them. Nobody cares.

I think it's the whole v8 = musclecar, v6 = pussycar ordeal.

Sure, when I drove the 05 at first I made fun of the v6's. No lights in gril, single exhaust... Yep, we got ourselves a sixxer! But I never shook my head or anything, I just said it with a smile. But by now I respect the v6 mustang, although I still wouldn't buy one. I don't care much about speed, our GT is bone stock. I care about looks and sound.
