I have to agree with that, there is no denying the exhaust note on the V8's. Thats for sure.

You guys are getting your panties in a bunch. You don't realize that Ford made the v6 Mustang so that they could sell the "look" of the Mustang to people who can't afford a GT. And that's all the v6 Mustang is - A Ford Taurus engine in a watered down Mustang body. Go mod a Chevy Impala and tell the GTs you can beat them. Nobody cares.
huh... no one??? 10,000+ hits on my web page in like 6 months... Feature car in Modified Mustangs... seems like I get a lot of attention for a car no one cares about!!! LOL!

I think it's the whole v8 = musclecar, v6 = pussycar ordeal.
v6's are for chicks, v8's for men.

Sure, when I drove the 05 at first I made fun of the v6's. No lights in gril, single exhaust... Yep, we got ourselves a sixxer! But I never shook my head or anything, I just said it with a smile. But by now I respect the v6 mustang, although I still wouldn't buy one. I don't care much about speed, our GT is bone stock. I care about looks and sound. And it just happens to be a v6 doesn't sound as good as a v8. Both when you step on it, and idle.

But I understand the reasons why people buy a v6. Lower initial cost, Cheaper insurance, better mpg... but the best reason of all I am saving for last: It's one of the best looking cars on the road today!

I agree with what your saying... and if I could have found a Screaming Yellow GT that was at least at MSRP I would gone with a GT... I never pay sticker for a car let alone OVER MSRP! But there were no Yellows to befind and in my area GT's were like $3000 over sticker... I really drove the V6 expecting it to be a total dog like the V6's in the 80's that I had driven... I was surprised at how well the V6 performed.. At the time I was totally satisfied with the looks and performance! This coming from I guy who had an 02 GT Vert and traded his Porsche in the V6! Some where along the line I got bit by the mod bug... and then it really just became a personal challenge to see how far we could push the V6... I have had an absolute blast along the way! I've met such great people... and to have my car in in a national publication... never thought that would ever happen! I guarantee if I had bought the GT it would still be stock... LOL!

A lot of common R&D went into both the V6 and V8 Mustangs. Since the V6 makes up the bulk of the sales I would say it's VERY likely that all those V6 sales keeps the V8's production costs, and price, lower.

I personally bought the V6 for economical reasons, but I'm sure that once I'm finished with university and have a career going I'll be on the market for a V8.

My girl was one of the first to have a GT around town. Early 2005. And she payed WELL below 25k. It pays off to be with a dealership with your entire family.
They give you sweet deals.

I love my V6 it is far fater than the other 2 V8 mustangs I've had, its safer to drive, gets loads better gas miliage and heck it looks good too. To all the hater out there so what. I got what I wanted and could afford at the time and seeing as no one helps me pay my car note they can go straight to H&ll.
As far as I concerned the only car owner w/room to talk is the GT owners and the GT owners with any class knows that V6 buyers are the reason the GT is affordable. Besides did I mention the look good too![sm=americanasmiley.gif]

I dunno man if someone wants to pay me the extra insurance, automobile cost, and gas price... i'll drive the v8. otherwise i'm sticking with the 6. This car is so fast, in fact, that it totally steered me away from every import you can buy for the sub 20k - 32k price range. Why spend all the extra money and insurance on an infiniti if you can just get something that looks a lot more stylish and (I haven't checked) the insurance probably costs less? I went from driving a 64 beetle to a contour 4cyl & V8 F150 to this, and I can't look back. But the VW has to stay because it has style as well and is imo just as fun to drive. It's just a different animal. I don't miss the contour however, but it is also a good car. Also this thing is mindblowing fast compared to a 5.8L F-150.

Oh ya I've seen people on this forum commenting that the interior in the mustang is cheap -> LOL nothing cheap about it at all.

Yea that ignorance is very annoying, especially when people post a race with a v6 mustang and they dont give any type of description as to what year, any mods, any people in the car, auto/stick. they just put it out there and classify everyone. ohh well. on a side note, i have switched to this forum because the v6 forum has turned into mostly technical forum and has a lot beginners in there. Now i have nothing wrong with beginners, we were all one at one time, but if i have to read another "which is the best CAI?" or "Which exhaust sounds the best?" well i think i am gonna hurl, lol.

i agree with you there, many of the people who think they know what theyre talking about, dont. lots of bad info in the v6 forums, which is why i barely post there nowadays.

...the auto is pretty horrible though.
At first I thought you were talking about the S197. I guess "new edge" is the last of the Fox bodies, right?
S197? Tell that to scrming........his car would stomp your ***
I know you weren't the one to chop my post unfairly, but since it was, and since i've gotten heat for supposedly saying the s197 auto is weak, if you go back and read the whole post i had made where that quote came from i was referring to the 94-98 s95 autos.

For the record my s197 is auto too.

hey wait a minute... how did I miss that post??? LOL!

The automatic is not all that great from the factory... it's upshift happy (3rd gear at 16mph at light throttle! LOL) and the shifts are incredibly smooth, meaning SLOW... it's more like the car slides from gear to gear rather than actually shifting! That being said...spend $400 on an X-Cal2 and you've got one mean automatic! My car is NOT upshift happy... i don't come out of 1st until almost 18mph! ANd when it shifts you friggin' better believe you'll feel it!!! The X-Cal really fixes all the short comings of the factory programming!

Now as far as *** stomping... I would gladly do it... if I'm unavailable I'm sure Rygen would gladly fill in! LOL!
I was referring to the 94-98's...thats clear from the whole post, someone just chopped it up and made me look bad. My 06's an auto, so i wouldn't bash it..lol.
