Is it safe to use HEET (or other gas-line antifreeze formulas) in our cars (2005+ V6s), and are they actually needed? I live in the midwest ...

i never use addatives. I don't trust em...i can't see you needing this type of thing in the midwest. Have you had any problems thus far?

I've had issues with my other cars (an 86 300zx v6 manual and a 2006 Mazda) which has difficulty starting without HEET.

hmmm, i have never had cold start problems. I wouldn't do it unless you really start having a problem with the car, but i really HATE addativies, so i am kinda against it.

If you burn ethanol you shouldn't need it. However, i know that when we were getting temps of -20 to -40 (not this year, thank God) I would put some in, it just made me feel better.
