What is the limit set at anyway? With a driveshaft and tires, what could our cars do? (assuming some mods)

YES! Your tires will explode.The only way to prevent this is to paint Cheetah spots on the tires before attempting this speed.

Its also possible that your seats will melt so you might wantt o get Z rated seats as well.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I have a related question: If the driveshafts have issues at higher speeds, does that also mean we can expect issues with them expiring prematurely, just from normal wear and tear? And, let's say - theoretically, of course - that one were prone to axceedentally smoking them theretires periodically, should that person expect to leave their driveshaft on the ground at some point, just because it's a cheap pos?

Just curious - this isn't for me, this is for a 'friend'... who never breaks the law, by the way.

Ah yes the Driveshaft - I understand that the problem is only with the 2005 and half of 2006 V6s.Forddid notput C clips on thedriveshaft joints, so when you getthe DS spinning to 120mph the jointsfly apart. I called ford to try and order the clips, but the dealer said they do not have a part number. I plan on contacting ford sometime in the futureand show them the dynovideo of the guy who blewhis DS.As for now I run on the dyno in 3rd.

I thinkeveryoneshould contact ford on this issue,while it is true that 120 is well above any speed limit, and thus illeagle, it is not illeagle to get on adyno is it????. I think fordwould want to install c clips, they know about the problem thatswhy they fixed it mid 06

Thoughts?

What about the folks who drive Mustangs on the Autobahn? There is no speed limit!

Autobahn eh? Well, not to dissapoint you, but when I was in Germany, we actually drove on the Autobahn with my freinds OPAL!!! Every time a corner or a turn came up, the limit dropped to 100KPH (60mph) and the spots that were streightaways, we sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic!! There were a few spots out in the country where there was not limit, BUT, it was only in the left lane, and there were too many people in it. Remember, the ***** built that road for one purpose, emergency landing strips!!
