Default Now what...

So there is an SCT XCal 2 tuner for sale for $210 that has been used on an 05 mustang v6 with computer code DUR3. My car is an 05 mustang v6 with computer code DUR3 - perfect match! He says it will work with mine because they can be used on up to 3 cars. It was tuned for an AIRRAID intake supposedly. If I buy this, does that mean I need to buy an AIRRAID intake too, or can I buy any intake to pair with the tuner. Also, are the intakes like the following one any good...they seem too cheap to be any good. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06...QQcmdZViewItem

Thanks for your input!

I'd stay away from those intakes.....now also, you can purchase whichever intake you'd like to. And you can purchase tunes from dealers like brenspeed and b@m@chips.comand evolution performance. Hope this helps...sorry I'm pulling a hw allnighter right now its 446 am my time, and I havent gone to sleep and probably wont.....have to be up for school at 630!

if the air-raid isnt the intake u want to go with id say no to the tuner. any intake that can be used without a tune isnt worth it in my opinion.
ur looking at....

$210 for tuner
$180 for new tunes (3) for whatever intake u end up with
$300 for C&L
thats $690 if u go that route....its cheaper and easier to just get a package deal from one of the recomended tuners for considerably less

So you are saying the tunes that are on the SCT for the AIRRAID intake won't work well with a different intake like C&L or TI?

well they are completely differnent intakes....and the other 2 have larger mass air sensor housings so more air can enter the engine, and the tune that needs to retune the engine for that increase in air wont be the same as the one for the airraid
