Shifting at Lower RPM?

Shifting at Lower RPM?
This question is for the mechanical engineers and gearheads out there (self-professed or otherwise):
While the engine is still warming up, I'm trying to shift at lower revs.
Sometimes when I shift around 2500 RPM, the next gear up is engaged around 1500 RPM.
This is under gentle, normal acceleration on flat roads.
Will gentle acceleration up from around 1500 harm anything?
Thank you for your help.
(I did search this topic, but nothing specific came up.)

No problem, Sancho. To answer your question: No, it doesn't feel like it's bogging. Just very low-level vibration (hardly perceptible) initially until the RPM climbs a little.

ok, then thats the semi-bogging your talking bout. i would guess again that its probably a little more strain on your engine than is ideal over a long period of time. kinda like when your riding a 10 speed bike and change through the gears right away and you start to feel the immediate strain on your legs. might not be a problem soon but over a long period of time, it may wear you down. JMO until a real tech chimes in on this one.
