squeaky steering in my car
#11
ok my car has about 20k but the problem started at about 15k. To explain the noise, when you are sitting still roll up the windows and star the car turn your wheel slow but not to slow and listen if u hear a small squeak noise coming from what sounds like the steering system that gets a bit louder as you turn left and right this will translate to he same noise when driving. Until my noise got louder non of the techs could hear it. But Finnally it got loud enough that people that did not know MY car could hear afixer was the first to hear it. I tried to call today but guessing they where super busy. If I remember Monday I will call the advisor and ask exactly what the issue was
at too low of a pressure and messed up the
steering rack somehow? The 'squeek' is the
fluid going by the pressure relief ball thats
under a spring? As the fluid passes this relief
valve the ball sometimes vibrates and causes
a noise like you are describing. The relief valve
normally operates when you have the steering
all the way right or left as far as it can go.
The owners manual states that you should not
hold the steering wheel lock to lock for more than
a few seconds or damage can occure.
