Best v6 cat back exhaust?
#11
I really like my gt take offs at low rpm. It sounds like a GT. at high rpms it sounds like a V6. I have heard some flow master that sound really good and others that sound like ricers. As most of the people on this thread have said listen for what you like. I have gone up to people on the street and asked what type exhaust they had. Some because I liked the sound others because I wanted to avoid the sound. In everything you do with your mustang, make it yours. Don't worry about what others say. It only counts if you like it.

Well like a few others on this thread have said, you are just lucky if you find one that fits you on the first try. Now as for the deep part, I have found that where our mufflers have to be mounted that it is best to get a big tip, atleast 3 inches cause they just wont look right and the tips on these cars really, really make a big difference. Also some advice for a good sounding exhaust on these cars is the headers, You need to get you some and no matter what some say, its still my belief cause I have ran them for 6 months now that the Chinese 130 buck sets work just as well as JBA or stuff like that that would cost you atleast near 300 bucks to your door. Now lastley for mufflers I just have a custom fabed system. I put my headers on myself and had the muffler shop i use cut the y pipe and make it custom true duals with no midpipe, i have thought about an xpipe but I havent done it yet, I am still running stock cats cause else I have heard they sound like the meanest honda you ever seen. Then to finish it off, some Flowmaster 40's, they are the only ones that will fit between the axle and bumper without any problems. They drone quite a bit on the interstate but if you can handle that they will fit your bill pretty good.
I have some videos but they are really shotty quality cause the camera I had was pretty bad, and I havent made time to do some new ones with a better camera, but if you want me to I can post them up.

go with Ford's V6 dual setup
Nasty, for the bucks and a good deal, go with Ford's V6 dual exhaust system. Sounds good with the GTA mufflers. Price is maybe a little high but not compared to systems like I put on my car from Stainless works. I put on a set of long tube headers and complete dual system with X-pipe, mini-high flow cats, and turbine mufflers. Everything is 304 stainless. Have a great holiday season. Jack

My friend has magnaflows and it doesn't sound like a gt, but it doesn't sound bad. It's not a tone attempting to make a v6 sound like a v8 and failing, it just gives it at really nice tone that isn't raspy and annoying.
