Default abs light

I have an 06 pony package and was wondering if anyone is running 275/40/17 and 245/45/17 stagger on their pony rims. I am about to put them on mine and have heard there may be a problem with the abs light coming on. any thoughts on this?

thanks

You should have no problems with the stagged tires and ABS.

You heard wrong.
The ABS module works with rim speed sensors
thats not that dependent on the other rims speeds.
The ABS mearly looks for locked up rotors and pulses
the fluid pressure mto that caliper to prevent wheel
lockup during hard braking. It does this 60 times a
second but its not sophisticated enough to have
different size tires cause it turn on the ABS light.
I have yet to hear of any problems with the ABS
and running different tire sizes than stock as long
as they fit in the OEM wheel well opening size.
Unless you are running 505/35-20s or something
that wont even fit in the fenderwell......

as strang as it may sound, i ended up putting 275/40's all the way around. i liked the way they looked on the rear, so we put one on the front and it looked good too! there are no issues with rubbing or road walking and it brings the tire near the edge of the tire well. it has an overall more aggressive stance/look.

On what width rims and what backspacing/offsets?

on the stock 06 mustang pony/gt rims. 17x8s one of the benifits is having a bit of a sidewall to protect my rims when my wife drives the car. now if i can figure out how to protect the rest... lol.
