I wouldn't use used gears/lsd if I were you just for the fact that the cost of install it what's going to be the expensive part. BUT...click the following:

He has a 8.8 for sale for $300. I'd try that rout if you can. Good luck whatever way you go!

Sometimes an 8.8 takeoff is going to be much cheaper then getting a t lok and gears installed on a 7.5. I know when I upgrade I will be doing the 8.8 because I can one for around $800 shipped, and the install will be cheap around $100, where as gears and a t lok for the 7.5 plus install would cost me at least $1000 and could be more.

That's ridiculous!

My gears were $200, T-Lok was $200 and the install was $175.

$575

I paid $700 for FRPP T-Lok, FRPP 3.73's and that was installed for parts, labor, taxes, everything.

And a t-lok and posi is the same thing.

+1... "t-lok vs posi" is the same as saying "beer vs brewski"... doesnt make sense because its the same thing... unless you're actually comparing which word sounds better

as for the intentions of the OP.... drifting? expect to spend a lot of cash on parts for the heavy wear and tear you'll be giving your car. also, u need a lot of torq which the 4.0 is no slouch in but not something you want to drift on stock power. if you are serious, then you really should get a much stronger posi. the FRPP T-Lok is fine for street use but i wouldnt bet on it for your intentions if you plan on drifting often.
