Cain is correct, it will play CD's with MP3 files burned to them.

Cain is right, you'll have to use an FM modulator if you want to use your MP3 player.

There's at least one company out there working on an adapter to utilize the AUX button on the Shakers

yep "mp3" means it will allow data cd's to be played...tech terms all it means is that it is able to read the table of contents to know where each file/mp3 is on the cd

Yeah I burned a CD (in regular data format, not audio CD). Got well over 100 tracks on the disc. Popped it in and it works fine. Shows the song name and artist on the display also. Does anyone know where it gets this? The filename or the ID tag?

The auxiliary input on the new ford units (as used in mustang, f-series trucks, five hundred, etc) is intended for use with rear set entertainment systems. PIE has a new auxiliary input adapter for the new ford head units that makes the unit think that the entertainment system is plugged in. It is available for pre-order now from logjam electronics. http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piefrd04aux.html I just order one the other day. Once you plug this in you can plug in any mp3 player into the aux input and play it throught the stereo.
