[sm=gears.gif] I was able to bury my Speedo too while passing a line of cars and a combine two weeks ago. I was remembering how scary as hell it was getting my first car (1966 Impala) up to 120 mph with the front end feeling like it was going to lift on me and how the Mustang felt like it was tied to the road at the time.

burdweiser, get a GPS unit and set it to record your speed. It will be safer and easier to use than a camera at speed.

I think I might wait until I get new tires on my car. I really don't feel safe going that fast with these stock tires on my car, I can just imagine them exploding at top speed! [sm=violin.gif] I am traveling to Austin TX this weekend, so between Houston and Austin I might build up the courage to do it again. There is an awful lot of wind noise in that car at 130MPH though! I do have a GPS unit in my car, but it is the Mobile Guardian alarm.

how could a 05 V6 mustang be faster the a 04 GT? the GT has a lot more Tq then the v6 does.

In a race of stock manual transmissions there is no reason why the '04 GT should lose but if you through in the automatic transmission the biggest handicap becomes the low final drive ratio (2.49:1 compared to the '04 manual of 3.55:1 or even the '05 manual at 3.31:1) It really doesn't matter how much torque you have if you have to use it all to get the car rolling. The other disadvantage is a slight weight difference of about 60 lbs. Further, remember that the '04 have been on the road a bit longer and enviornmental issues can come into play such as the type of gas that you are running to how clean your air intake is or if your catalytic is getting congested. The '05 does have a big advantage just because it is new. Run them again in two to three years and see how they fare.[sm=icon_rock.gif]
